Premiere Pro Project File Issue

Explorer ,
Jan 22, 2024 Jan 22, 2024

Hi there,

I have a Premiere Pro project that opens up in one Windows computer (slightly newer laptop from 2023 on windows 10) and it hangs in another Windows computer (desktop on windows 10). In the computer that the project doesn't open (progress bar freezes) I already reset the Preferences and I thought it could be plugin related so I chose not to load third-party plugins. I also cleared the cache for both the media and the plugins. Still the progress bar froze at the same spot (around 75 or 80 percent). Not sure what to do. I could continue the work on my laptop but my desktop is the one that is connected to all my studio peripherals for typical postproduction job. I even opened 2023 Premiere Pro, imported sequences and although it allowed me to import and the sequences opened up just fine, when I saved it, closed Premiere Pro 2023 and tried to reopen it, it froze on the same spot. Anyone here that could give me any hint for potential issue and how to mitigate it? Thanks a lot.

Ty updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site. If NVIDIA, do a clean installation of the latest Studio Driver (NOT the Game Driver).

If that doesn't work, try creating a new project and import the old one into it.

Hi there,

Driver is not an issue because other projects are fine.
Also I thought I mentioned even after import to a new project it doesn't open.

Thanks for trying though. 🙏🏽

Hi @Arya21811344hdig,

I read about your issue. Have you tried opening the project with the media offline? Give that a try and then reconnect the project to isolate the file that may be tripping you up. That's what I would try, anyway. Sorry for the frustration. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,
Kevin
