Premiere Pro repetitive tasks.

The amount of tasks that require repeated interactions is far too high.

If Adobe support would like user suggestions I have a list that's too long.

But I could begin with interactions with clips, clip edges, and clip transitions being far too finicky.

The inability to copy and paste key frames between effects.

And the absolutely terrible/laggy preview performance for any transition work.

Oftentimes il clicking or exporting on the hunch that what I've done has worked.

Hello @Zachary5DCB,

Thanks for the question. It is true that there are a lot of repetitive tasks in video editing. I think so, too. I will start the thread with some basic ideas you may have already considered. You can take these ideas to a very deep level, so I encourage you to go hardcore and come away flying.

I know some use things like Auto Hotkey to automate keyboard strokes. Check that out here. I would encourage learning the keyboard shortcuts available and mapping some of the shortcuts that need to be manually programmed by you. If you can commit these by heart, you can really fly. Picture not even touching the mouse. That's how far you can go.

Look into creating animation and effects presets for your video effects. Some people have dozens of these specially made for their workflow.

Third party effects are useful, as are certain third party utilites available, such as those from Knights of the Editing Table.

There are other tools where you can automate processes, like Photoshop, which can batch-convert images from one format to the next. Check out Bridge, which has dozens of uses to speed up workflows. You can even preview text animation there available in After Effects. Media Encoder can do some time-saving maneuvers, like smart rendering, creating proxies with watermarks, and processing clips to an editing codec to make it easier to edit. Watch folders are cool too. Look into it. Good Luck!

Thanks,
Kevin
