Haven't been able to use Premiere Pro 22.x in the last month or so. It is extremely laggy and exports are taking 18 hours plus.

Was super smooth and fast last month. Something changed.

I already cleared "media cache" and updated drivers.

Computer Specs: Intel i9 12900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR5, Samsung 980pro 2TB SSD x2.

I already searched for solutions, but found none. Currently working off Davinci Resolve until I find a solution.

Hi there!

Sorry to hear that. Can you share the following information?

  • Does it happen on a specific project?
  • Are you exporting your file through AME?
  • Which drive are you using to export your render (internal/ external or shared)?

Let us know.

Thanks,

Kartika

Happens with any new or existing project.

I have tried several drives. for my C drive I use a Samsung 980 pro 2tb M.2 SSD. files are stored on the c drive, exported into the C drive as well. I have not tried using external drives.

Hi,

Just download the Nvidia Studio drivers in your system. It is specifically designed for editing & 3d work.
https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/167762/

Note for everyone: If you are gamer you can use the Nvidia game drivers but editing it wont work.

Also is Cuda installed in your system?

https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-downloads

Also install this, it helps in speeding up the computing for all 3d softwares also for premiere.

Hope this helps.

Also another quick solution is to switch back to 2021 version.
2022 version of all Adobe softwares is very laggy & slow.

If you are using creative cloud, you might have to uninstall premiere first. Once its completely unistalled, go back to the premiere icon on creative cloud, there will be an option for older versions. You can select the very last version.

I figured out how to install an older version, but unfortunately performance is still terrible.
