OK an old project that the files were moved to a larger HD (due to the old hard drive being full)

1. In locating media, I find the files (PSD) that I need

2. I get "File Import Error"

this is what I have done, so far.....

cleared cashe (both in CC & manually deleleted)

uninstalled all copies of Premiere Pro

re-installed latest version of Premeire Pro

started a "New project" & inported the "old" project

made sure all drivers are up to date

re-booted

Same issue, always "file import failure"

changed the PS file to JPG (same result)

the files open fine in Photoshop

made a small change in PS, saved as new file (with same result)

what should I do next?

should I un-install every CC program & re-install?

client is waiting for the video.....

should I uninstall all CC programs & re-install????? (very time consuming)

Try resetting the preferences:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-how-to-reset-trash-preferences-in-premiere-pro/td-p/...

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.
from here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/workspaces.html

If that doesn't work, try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.

If that doesn’t work, try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site. If NVIDIA, do a clean install of the latest Studio Driver (NOT the Game Driver)
