Premiere won't export after effects compositions

I am exporting a minute and a half long video with some after effects compositions in the video. Two of the compositions will not show up when the video is exported. The video goes black or plays the non-color graded footage where those compositions should be. It looks perfectly fine in Premiere but when the video is fully exported I run into the same issue over and over again. Does anyone know how to get premiere to export all of the compositions on my timelines??

Export the AE comp to an intermediate file and put that file in Premiere's timeline.

I tried that, however, the intermediate file wont open the exported comp.
