Welcome to the community! I think that's because your sequence settings have a different resolution. You can change those by going to Sequence > Sequence Settings. The Sequence Settings match the first media you drag and drop to the timeline. You can avoid that by creating a new Sequence separately, choosing your preferred frame size, and adding the media clips.
