My preview playback is lagging a lot despite keeping preview resolution to half  no matter however small change I make. I'm using Premiere Pro 2019 & my laptop is Dell Vostro 1500 series with Intel(R) HD Graphics Card 610. What am I lacking or do I need to upgrade naything for it to generate atleast a better rate of preview with which I can work. Some help please🙏.

What are the complete computer specs, including hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, what capacity, and how full)?

I'm using Premiere Pro 2019 & my laptop is Dell Vostro 1500 series with Intel(R) HD Graphics Card 610. My RAM is 4GB. If you are asking about the Local disks then the one which has all my system running files & primiere pro installed in has over 60GB free & the one in which I've set to save all the previews & auto-saves has over 200GB free.

Thanks for the system details. I think low RAM is causing this issue. Minimum Ram required for Premiere Pro is 8 GB. You can also refer to system requirements: https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/system-requirements.html.

  1. My laptop probably doesn't have expandable RAM slots. Can attaching an external graphics card/eGPU help solve this out by any chance?

You probably need more room on that .

Where are your cache files?

Are they SSD or HDD drives?

The main issue, however, is RAM as was pointed out by Kartika Rawat.
