I'm using Premiere 24.4.1 Build 2 on Windows 11.
What I want to do: I have a transcription from a 3rd party service that I want to apply to a clip in Premiere in order to do text based editing. I am using a 3rd party service as the footage is in Swiss German, which is not supported by Premiere.
What happens: When I open the "Text" menu and click "Import static transcript" or "Import corrected transcript", nothing happens. The menu just closes. There is no way for me to select my external transcription file.
Any ideas?

Generating a new static transcript, closing the project and opening it again, or some combination of this, will eventually let me do this.
This happens to me at least a couple of times, if I am trying to sync a transcript to a few videos using this feature. The feature is still a good time-saver as the captions usually only need minimal edits or re-splitting, but it is pretty mad that there is no error message even when this fails.

Could you send me the original prtranscript file and your corrected transcript via PM? I'd like to check this and make sure we can repro internally. Just to make sure: The function you are talking about is meant for a workflow where you have transcribed the audio in Premiere and then get a better version of the transcript (e.g. from a human annotator) in the form of a simple TXT or CSV file.
What Premiere then does when you use that function is to match the incoming txt file against the existing transcript in Premiere and use it to correct the premiere transcript so that it matches your new txt file while keeping word level timings intact.
