Hey,
I've been an assistant editor for some years now and a year and a half ago I started assisting in a series using Productions.
I've been impressed by the capability of the system but this issue annoys me and the editors I assist.
So basically, when you are editing and working on a timeline (The project only contains the timeline), and you want to use another part of the same take, the usual process for some editors is to match back to the source, do the in and out, delete the clip from the timeline and then cut in the new portion of the clip.
The problem with productions is that when you do this, as soon as you delete the clip from the timeline the clip in the source disappears. I think this makes it a little uncomfortable for some editors that use this technique to edit with.
I'm using Premiere Pro 2022, but I've tested this on the latest version of 2023 as well and it still happens. Any ideas? I know how to work around it for sure, but I'd love to see this issue fixed.
