Program window navigation with trackpad

In the most recent updates to Premiere 24.4/5 the program window appears to have lost the scroll bars used to more easily navigate around the preview when zoomed in. 

On that, why is it not possible to easily navigate around the preview without using those scroll bars? like pinch to zoom on a trackpad, three finger scroll or any standard interactions that other software uses with trackpad interface.

2 fingers (slide rather then pinch) will zoom wherever the cursor is located. To pan, you'll have to temporarily switch to the Hand tool (H). I agree it would be nice if there was a faster pan option (maybe 3 finger pan) rather than having to chnage tools.
