Proxies only linking one at a time

Hi, I have a bunch of R3D's with QT sidecar files. However I created my own proxies in a separate folder but whenever I try to link them it only links the first clip  and defaluts to the sidecar files. Yes I have "relink to others automatically" checked. Same result. Clips all have "_Proxy" appended to end of the filename. Linking each clip individually is impractical and not really acceptable either. Any advice? 

Also, the reason I'm not linking to the proxies the RED made is because it doesn;t link the spanned files, it only links the first QT. I'll take a solution to that problem as well.
