"Create sequence from clip" puts last clip first

I'm creating stringouts of a day's shoot on this documentary. Every clip is sequentially numbered - the filenames, the timecodes - but when I "create sequence from clip" it puts the last clip at the head of the sequence, and then all the clips in sequential order. Same thing if I drag those clips over into the timeline from the bin. It doesn't work right either way. Definitely a bug.

rob,

What version of PR are you using?

How are you selecting the clips? They should go into the sequence in the order they are selected. This is working correctly for me in the new release 23.4.0.

I'm using the latest update, 23.4.0. I'm running Monterey on a M1 Macbook Pro.

The way you select the clips in the bin determins the order in the timeline.

So make sure you select the first clip first.

I see the workaround you're proposing and yes that works but I fail to see the logic nor the intended functionality of this. If I sort my bin by any column - name, timecode, format, etc - why should it matter in what order I select my clips? I'm sorting them in a particular order in the bin, and that should be maintain when I drop them in a sequence. I still consider this a bug.

Its not a workaround but by design.

Say you want your clips in a particular order, such as 6.3.9.5.1.

How are you going to sort this. You cannot you select them is this order and drag to the timeline.
