Raw Footage is being shortened when inserting in a sequence

Hey guys, when i bring my raw into a new sequence, premiere shortenes it for some reason. Example: Drag and dropping a 12 minute clip, only 4 minutes of it is brought to sequence. So frustrating

Most probable cause are, 1) you have in and out points marked on your clip, 2) your clip is part of a spanned clip.

 

But you have not provided anywhere near enough information for a real answer.
