Re-using a video clip in the same project

Please pardon the noob question!  I've used a video clip in one place on the timeline, with certain In and Out points set.  Now it seems like the imported clip has been trimmed to my In and Out points.

Is there a way of using that same clip with different in and out points -- like a new instance of the original clip -- in a different place on the timeline? Do I have to re-import the clip?

Don't place the in and out points in the Media Panel or Source Monitor.

Cut it on the timeline.

Then you can reuse the clip in the Media Panel.

You do not need to import the clip again.

Double-click on clip in Project window this will open a new instance of the same clip already in the timeline, set in and outpoint and insert into timeline or

Select clip from timeline hit F (match frame) this will open an new instance in the Source Monitor, set in and outpoint and insert into timeline.

The only time this will get messed up is if you open the clip from the timeline into the Source Monitor and reset the in and outpoint.
