I've been having a new very frustrating issue or bug that started happening yesterday and I cannot figure out why.
(Latest version of Adobe Prem. running Windows 11 up to date)
I'm using a production file to manage all my projects, for the last 6 months absolutely no issues - starting yesterday however I started a new project within the production, and when I went to record the voiceover it was counting down and said it was recording but no voiceover track was created.
At first I thought it was my microphone, so I unchecked mute audio playback while recording and tried again, I could hear myself through the speaker just fine, but no audio track was created afterwards.
I went and opened up the last project I worked on in the production, and tried a test voiceover and it recorded just fine, I clicked back over to the new sequence and started to record the voice over and it worked! I thought it was a weird bug, did a few sessions, closed premiere and today started it up again to the exact same issue except now when I jump from an older project and back it doesn't always work 100% of the time, that work around only seems to work about 25% of the time I try it.
I've checked my audio settings, I've checked sequence settings - and I can not figure out what is causing this issue. It is extremely frustrating -- my temporary work around has been to use audacity and import the file into premiere but that's adding a lot of extra clicks and time to my workflow, I also prefer the way the voiceover sounds when recorded through premiere compared to coming in through audacity and importing the file.
Things i've tried:
deleted cache
started new projects multiple times within the production
created new sequences within projects
checked audo hardware and audio settings
confirmed premiere pro knows my mic is in, and when I try recording the voiceover with the "mute playback" button unchecked I can hear myself talk through the headphones or speakers.
Advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
