recover an edit from a finished film

Hello everyone,

On an old project that I deleted a long time ago, I still have the native rushes in good quality as well as the final film compressed in bad quality and I would like to be able to rework the editing as well as an export in good quality, but it is very complicated (and very long) to start again the cuts, the editing of all the shots. Is it possible to automatically synchonize my images from the final compressed film on the original rushes in good quality and cut as on the usual editing table?
If you have a track, a tuto... many thanks in advance (:

Have a nice day

Hi, Gilmaur,

Sorry about your issue. That's a challenging situation to be in. Without a project file, XML, or EDL, there is no answer other than doing this manually. I would put up the finished film on the timeline and eye-match it as well as you can. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,
Kevin

You're probably stuck eye matching, but if you run scene edit detection on your show it will make finding ins and outs and navigating the timeline a little easier.

First of all, thank you @Kevin-Monahan & @smrpix for the speed of your replies and your compassion, it's very nice 😄

I did a little mix of the two and followed the tutorial on the adobe site for scene edit detection, which despite everything makes it 40% easier to locate the cuts (it doesn't see slow motion or speed up and some cuts but overall it is really helpful).
But now my real problem is to be able to replace the bad quality videos with the original good quality rushes, is there an automation to do this?

I understand that have to adjust a bit with my hands but if you have a trick to make Pr find the corresponding images by himself I'd be very happy!

Best regards
