Regarding Windows crashes (BSOD) during editing

Hello guys,

I can't seem to find any Adobe-support mail, so I'll post my issue here instead.

If any other issue similar to this have been posted before, I'm sorry for the repost.

I'm experiencing some troubles with my computer crashing while editing videos in Premiere pro- either my screens will go black for a while and once they turn back on- I'll be logged out of the PC.

Worst case my computer will BSOD and I'll get the following error:  DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

I'm using a Thinkpad Laptop with a dedicated GPU (NVIDIA QUADRO P520)

I've had the trouble with the early 2009 Premiere Pro version, which lead to me upgrading to the new 2022 one- which haven't helped.

I've collected 3 crash logs, from different dates- if these are of any help. They're attached to the post.

Thanks in advance!

Can you a windows version? PC specs?  extra plug ins? You edit local? network drive? SSD? Do you get crash logs of Adobe? or is it PC crash?  You drivers up to date?  I have to be honest i not see youre card in the supported cards : https://helpx.adobe.com/be_nl/premiere-pro/system-requirements.html#graphics-cards.  If you use in youre project Software render instead of Mercury playback engine does it help ?

I saw another post arround youre error : maybe read it too : https://community.adobe.com/t5/video-hardware-discussions/driver-power-state-failure-blue-screen-of-...

Hi,

Win11 21H2 - Also tried on Windows10 before the upgrade, and it was the same issue.

There's no extra installed plugins- and issue is happening both while editing on a networkshare & locally (SSD)

The files I've attached was crashlogs from Adobe- not the BSOD crash logs.

I have tried with Software render- and it still happens, just not as often.

Also I've just had it happen while also using Photoshop- so it seems that It's just Adobe applications in general. Could this simply be due to my GPU not being supported? Seems a bit excessive

The files you shared looks more like console files. Not the crash reports.

But i think you not activated the option to store them locally.

If i try to analyse a crash log of adobe it starts with : crashed on that thread and then you try to look at the tread and see what he was doing.

For supported GPU/CPU you must aks Adobe themself, can be that they for some reason not able to support that GPU. Thats why when edit you look at the requirements before buy hardware. I know that AVID is very strict on what you can use and what not.  Have you read the tread i sended .. what i mostley read is there is a general eror .

This is an old message, but it may help with some ideas... in general video editing stresses every part of a computer, so any 'weak' component will cause problems
