I moved a couple of files to different folders so i'm in the proccess of relinking them. Im able to relink the footage (.MOV files) just fine without problems but it wont allow me to relink the actual premier project file (.prproj file). I just get an error message saying 'file format not supported'

I don't think you can relink a project file, just media files.

Try reimporting the project.

Oh ok, do you know if theres a setting on premier that'll allow you to create new files when the files are imported into the timeline? So that when they're moved in finder it wont affect the files in the project timeline, esssentially creating new files like final cut pro x does.
