Premiere Version 23.5, but it's been happening for awhile now.
Steps. Remix an audio clup with the remix tool (the one where you can stretch it to length on the timeline). Change your mind sometime later and remix it to another lenth. With some frequency the waveform will glitch out and do something like this:
There is audio there at the end of that clup even though the wavefrom is showing a weird squarewave and then a silent section. If you have done the remix recently (it's still in ram) you can disable and re-enable the remix and that seems to bring it back but if you open the project fresh and have this bad waveform that trick doesn't work as it will lose whatever remix you have.
Altogether the waveform function of premiere leaves a lot to be desired. For the last 5 years myself and others have been asking for:
1. Reatime drag of audio waveform (no more 1994 draw outline please)
2. Realtime scaling of waveform based on volume envelope
3. No more flickering waveforms
4. Waveforms that work consistently at all zoom levels.
Other audio annoyances:
Dragging a rubber band on the timeline is not realtime at all. Usually I have to stop and play again to hear the volume change in the mix.
Audio is half of video. Please give this some love. Not everyone has the resources to use a dedicated mixer.

Still getting some bad buggy waveforms. This program is a glitchy mess lately.
