Removing film frame flicker when recording film with iphone

I have 16mm and 8mm films that were projected, then recorded with either my iPhone or digital camera. When playing the digital version you see film frames scrolling caused by the film frames not matching the recording on phone or digital camera. Is there a way to remove this?

Try adding your footage to a sequence with a frame rate that matches the projector. This should help reduce or remove the flicker you're seeing.

The video was already captured so the rolling frame lines are there.

Digital Anarchy's "Flickr Free" might help. Paid plugin, not much cost, pretty good for a lot of things.
