I am having such a headache. I have multiple sequences that are linked to one video, and each sequence is cut in bits. Problem is, one of the sequences, needs to be linked to a different video. But when I replace the video, the other sequences are affected and vica versa. It seems like I just can't unlink this video from one sequence, without affecting the others. PLEASE HELP.

Sequences are essentially a database of what we've done in sequential order. You should be able to change clips on one sequence without affecting others unless they are duplicates of the other sequence.

Then, yes, changing one of the dupes at times changes the others.

Did you create separate sequences, or make one, then dupe it?

Yes, it's a duplicate, my assistant editor accidentally used the wrong
video and attached it, then edited it, now I'm stuck with not being able to
change source without affecting the other sequence.

If you right click on the sequence in the Project panel and choose Duplicate, you should get an independent sequence.

You can then delete the old sequence and rename the new sequence and replace the clip in the sequence with the new clip.
