Replacing/adding Audio In Multi-cam Sequence

Hey there! I'm currently ingesting and cutting a feature in Premiere 23.6.2 (Build 6), while production is ongoing. Production is using an A and B cam, as well as a C and D cam in some instances. I am using Multi-cam sequences to sync cameras for ease of use.

DIT is supposed to sync audio when creating offline media, but they didn't for the first week, providing us with scratch audio. This has since been corrected. However, we have already created multi-cam sequences with the cameras synced up without the wav files from sound. Now we have those sound files (not sure why they didn't come sooner).

Can I simply go into these existing multi-cam sequences and replace the audio? When I try this, I'm not able to bring in all the new channels to the timeline. Sometimes, I lose the multi-cam view in the source monitor and it only shows the top clip. Again, this only happens after I change the audio.

When I drop these updated multi-cam sequences into my working sequence, it will only bring in two channels even though the audio has 3 to 5 channels. It also stops showing any waveforms. When my multi-cam sequence is in the source monitor, source patching in the timeline only shows two audio channels instead of what it should be.

I've synced sound and picture with multi-cam sequences in the past before and it's always brought in every channel of audio. Am I having this issue because I didn't create the sequences with the production wav files to begin with? Will I have recreate my multi-cam sequences with audio? Or am I missing something in updating the audio in these multi-cam sequences?

I've attached some images. Sorry that I can't exactly show you the source monitor because of the visuals of the film, but I can use graphical examples from the timeline:

01_Screenshot = Existing multi-cam sequence--stereo scratch audio

02_Screenshot = Updated multi-cam sequence with replaced audio--you can see it has 3 audio channels

03_Screenshot = Source patching when the multi-cam sequence is in the source monitor--only two channels

04_Screenshot = When a clip from the multi-cam sequence is brought in, it only brings in two audio channels

I'm running MacOS Big Sur 11.7.10
