Dear Adobe Team,
My name is Andrej, and I am a director from Belgrade, Serbia, currently studying at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade—the oldest and most prestigious institution for film and theater education in my country, established in 1948. I am reaching out to ask for your help with an issue that is very important to my studies and filmmaking projects.
As a student of film directing, Adobe Creative Cloud and its applications have been my trusted companions throughout my artistic and filmmaking journey, and now into my studies. Like many filmmakers, I started out with tools like iMovie and Windows Movie Maker (a rite of passage for all of us, right?). But ever since I discovered Premiere Pro, it has been my editing software of choice, making the entire post-production process of my projects easier and more enjoyable every day.
I’ve been using Premiere Pro version 22.0 for years and have developed my editing style, workflow, and routine around it. A key feature of this version, the Legacy Title tool, has been particularly important for creating titles, graphics, and opening and closing credits for my films.
Recently, I upgraded to an Apple Studio computer with the M2 chip, only to discover that Premiere Pro 22.0 is no longer available for download through Adobe Creative Cloud on my new editing computer.
I have never been one of those users who always needs the latest versions of programs at all costs. Instead, I often return to the versions of programs that I learned on and have developed a certain love and connection with.
While I understand that the latest versions of Premiere Pro are perhaps even more optimized for Apple Silicon (starting with version 15.4, if the internet isn’t misleading me), the removal of Legacy Title in newer versions has left me in a very tough spot. This isn’t only about the feature itself—it’s about the trust and connection I’ve built with this version of the program as an editor and filmmaker. It’s also about continuing the specific workflow I’ve honed over the years with this tool.
I kindly ask if it might be possible to make an exception and grant me access to Premiere Pro 22.x. This would make a world of difference for my academic and professional projects, allowing me to continue creating with the tools I know and trust. As the saying goes: If it ain't broke, why fix it?
Thank you so much for your time and understanding. Your support would mean the world to me as I pursue my studies and passion for filmmaking.
Warm regards from Serbia,
A
tldr: I would greatly appreciate it if I could receive a download link for Premiere Pro version 22.6 from 2022, which is optimized for standalone operation on Apple M2 chips. All the projects I worked on at university (I am student of film direction from Serbia), on the institution's computers, were created in the 2022 version of Premiere Pro, and they all utilize the Legacy Title option, which Adobe no longer supports.

The bad news is that there is no way anyone here can provide you with that version, as this is largely a user-to-user forum. It would be against company policy for users to distribute installers here, as you can probably understand. However, even Adobe assisted support professionals like myself or those online working on the video queue cannot help you with legacy installers earlier than v.23. I apologize. The window for v.22 availability closed in October, 2024.
I have an idea, though. Are you using an educational installation of Creative Cloud? You may want to approach the IT Administrator at your school,. It's possible they have an installer archived for such purposes. Any good administrator should have back ups. They also can communicate with Adobe Enterprise Support for assistance. I suggest this as your next plan of action. I hope it works!
I wish you luck with this and all future projects. I'm sorry for the frustration about this.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
First of all, thank you for your quick response—I really appreciate it. I understand my situation now better, I wasn’t aware that Adobe had completely discontinued support for Premiere Pro 2022. That’s unfortunate.
The idea of requesting the installer for this specific version came to me after visiting some online forums (Reddit, etc.), where people advised me to try contacting Adobe Support directly for a potential link.
I like the suggestion about the school’s IT administrator—it might even work. I’ll give that a shot, as it’s quite possible they have backups of previous Premiere versions (hopefully including 2022).
I just have one question: since we use Intel Mac computers at the university, if I manage to download the installer from one of those computers via the school’s Adobe Cloud, would it work on my M2 Apple Silicon computer, given the difference in processor architecture?
I’d like to avoid using Rosetta if possible, and as I mentioned earlier, to the best of my knowledge, the 2022 version of Premiere Pro should be optimized for standalone operation on Apple Silicon.
Thanks again for your response, and warm regards from Serbia,
Andrej

Hey Andrej - @andrej_0428,
Thanks for the reply. The trouble with other social media platforms is the inconsistency of information. It might be wrong, outdated, or both.
I hope you can find assistance on your end. Your IT Admin is the key to difficult support issues.

No, there are two different installers, one for Intel and another for ARM (Apple Silicon-based computers). That would not work anyway, the app needs to be installed on your specific computer. The IT Admin should give you an installer for all the CC Apps your school has a license to.
I hope the advice helps.
Thanks,
Kevin

this isn't adobe support. that said, unless you have a teams or enterprise subscription, you can install only the current and one major previous versions of adobe apps.
for the current and one previous versions use the cc app:

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
