Rotate Clips in Bin before adding to timeline

Hi,

I want to rotate clips shot wit FX3 / FX30 before adding them to a timeline, so I can view them in the source preview window in the correct orientation.

Adding a transform effect to the master clip rotates the clip, but the frame is still wrong in the preview window (see screenshot).

I can only imagine that is a bug. Would be great if this could be fixed!

As I am using windows I am also not able to easily rotate the clips in the finder.

Cheers, Leo

I've had situations where this would be helpful many times.  I agree the way the transform effect works as a master clip effect in the preview monitor is weird, but I think maybe the better or ultimate solution would be having transform options as an interpret footage option.

Yes absolutely! I was expecting something like that and was surprised that it doesn't exist. Woudl be great to have that as an option.

Its not a bug.

It is the way it is designed.

The transform effect rotates the content of the frame, not the orientation.

In you want the clip to  fit, you need to scale it down, or change the orientation of the clip before bringing it into Premiere.
