Save audio file as MP3 from Premier Pro Sound edit.

Is it possible to edit audio files in Premier Pro and save them to computer as MP3. I tried last night by trying to export the edit - and mp3 was a choice but there was a button marked export to project and now outside option. Please advise.

right click the sound ( select all sound stuff first ) and choose 'edit in audition' … convert to mp3 in audition, use SAVE AS option to put the mp3 in folder of your choice …  that should leave your stuff in the editor the way it is but give you a 'copy' of the sound as mp3.

In the Export Panel, click on the underlined name to navigate to where you want to store the file (and it will also allow you to rename it):
