Scene edit detection missing edit points in Premiere 23.2.0

In Premiere 23.2.0 (build 69), I'm getting missed cuts whtn using the scene edit detection function.

Previous version shave had no issues with this, but it's now consistently only picking up a minority of edit points in a clip.

We use this feature daily to break up content to edit, so it's a bit painfull having to revert to manually doing this.

We're running Mac OS Ventura 13.2.1 and both Intel and M1 MacBook pros.

We're sorry about the poor experience. Is the Scene edit detection working differently for the same clip in two different versions of Premiere Pro? If so, would you mind sharing a download link for the sample media with which you are experiencing this issue? It will help us to diagnose the issue properly at our end.

Hi Sumeet.

I've done some more testing, and it seems it's mostly an issue for the Intel MacBook Pro I use in the office.

There's also no particular media (file or type) it's happening to, rather it's for all media I try to use it on.

I've tried resetting Premiere prefs, trashing caches, and uninstalling/re-installing, but nothing fixes the issue for me.

Would love to have further ideas on steps to try, as losing that function is a bit painful now that we're used to having it.

Hey - Glad to see this thread, also seeing the same issue on my Intel MBP on multiple clips from unique sources since a recent update. Happens on different media type, Mp4 .mov .mxf
Featured used to work flawlessly, something i used heavily. Now it misses most scence changes, picks up very few and I have to go back and manually add the missing edit cuts.

@Sumeet Kumar Choubey Id be happy to privately share some sample clips, dont want to share directly here as the clips are client work. Could you let me the best way to privately share that with you?

Any updates on this issue with Intel macs? I see other threads with people on intel macs facing same issue
