Shorts keys get it wrong

I want to Open a New Project in Pr using the Ctrl-Alt-N shortcut, but I get a New Note dialog, for my Evernote app, instead.  I closed that app but I still get the New Note dialog.

Does anyone have an idea why that is happening and what I might do to force it to work properly in Pr?

I've never heard of evernote, but I have a feeling your 'closing that app' means it is still running. Is there a tasktray icon for it, or can you see it in Task Manager. Make sure you kill any Evernote in Task Manager. Evernote is using it's global shortcuts, so killing the app is the way to get around it.

And Windows can by funky about the Alt key. I can't use most the Alt key as a "solo" modifier as most of the time, Windows thinks I'm doing some Windows menu thing. There's a batch file out there to supposedly turn that off for a time, but I've not tried it.

Make sure the Ctrl key is down before touching the Alt key ...

I imagined this to be the problem, these responses seem to verify that. I

Think I'll just reassign the shortcut in Pr; it would be easier, and besides, I use the Evernote shortcut constantly so I think it best to leave it.
