I've searched without luck for an explanation of the "Side-Chain In:" option in the channel map of the Dynamics Processing dialog in Premiere Pro. Like so many, I am hoping to duck some audio within Premiere without using Audition. So can anyone tell me what the Side-Chain option, shown above, is for and how to make use of it?

Thanks!

I've also been trying to figure this out in 2023. Still can't seem to make sense of it. Any wisdom from the last 6 years?

Fair question. So I'm working with audio tracks that are 5 hours long. Even on a powerful pc the "generating keyframes" step takes a long time (> 10 min in my case) to complete and yielded... Mixed results. Plus all the extra keyframes makes managing this track a huge pita. If I could get the sidechain compression to work all of these issues go away, but I can't find any docs on channel remapping that explain why this particular effect seems to half support sidechaining

So you've got a good case for needing another option there ... certainly.

Might also try asking on the Audition forum, as Audition is really the audio stuff "under" Premiere, and the folks there are far more audio-versed.
