significant lag and freezing issues with a specific project in Premiere Pro (version 24.1).

Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing significant lag and freezing issues with a specific project in Premiere Pro (version 24.1). Every action, whether it's pressing the 'in' key, jumping to a different point in the sequence, or locking/unlocking a channel, results in a delay. The timeline takes several seconds to update, and the spinning colored wheel appears constantly whenever I perform any action on the timeline, sometimes even freezing momentarily. This problem intensifies the longer I work on the project, and using Media Encoder for exporting seems to exacerbate it.

Here's what I've tried so far, without success:

- Starting a new project and importing only the most recent sequences.

- Creating new sequences and copying content from old ones.

- Transferring the entire project to different drives, including an external USB and the internal APPLE SSD AP1024Z.

- Simplifying the sequence by removing all effects and color corrections.

- Downgrading Premiere Pro. This reduced the delay to 2 seconds, but it still persists and seems to worsen over time.

- Updating my Mac OS to Sonoma 14.2.1.

My system specs:

- Apple M2 Max

- 96 GB RAM

I'd greatly appreciate any insights or solutions to this issue. Has anyone encountered and resolved something similar?

Thanks in advance,

Idan
