Dear support team, I have long-term trouble with media playback in Premiere Pro on my computer, the playback is slow, stuttering, its hard to work with. I have already tried to update all drivers, nvidia driver is as recommended.

I am editing Sony A7siii footage - most often XAVC S; 25/50p; 4:2:2 - 10bit (S-log3)

Its custom assebled PC, specs:
Windows 10

Intel core i9 9900K 3,6GHZ

NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2060

RAM 32GB

SSD disk.

When I open the same project on my Macbook air M1, it works perfectly (same media, same Premiere and project settings). Could I ask you for any advice please?

Best regards

Martin

Hey Martin,

Sorry for the poor experience. Which version of Premiere are you currently using? Are you having this issue with the XAVC footage specifically? For testing purposes, please go to File > Project Settings > General, switch the Renderer to Mercury Playback Engine Software Only, and let us know if you notice any difference.

Regards,

Ishan

You might also try deleting the cache on the PC.

• Start PP from it's normal desktop icon (IE: don't open from a project file link).
Close the Open/Home screen (and you will be in PP without a project open).
• Go into Edit/Preferences/Media Cache (Mac users adjust menu name)
• Then Press: Remove Media Cache Files: and Delete...
• Select: Delete all media cache files from the system and OK
Close PP - It will create any needed cache files on the fly as you edit.
