Slowmotion doesn't extend clip length??

I have a clip in the middle of my timeline that I want to slow down.  Unfortunately the clip gets cut to the same length of the original timeline length.  Is there a setting I am missing that would automatically shift all the clips to the right of the slowmotion clip so that the slowmotion clip is the full length?  I know I can highlight everything to the right and pull out and then ripple delete but I would think Premiere Pro would just shift on it's own like other programs I've uesed.  TY

I don't think that it can be done automatically.

Thanks,

Luma Fusion on my iPad.  I do mostly highlight reels for my kids sports so it's quick edit and off to IG but I want to go back to learning Premiere Pro.

You would think a professional program would do everything automatically, but it is rather the opposite.

The editor is in full control: not the program.
