My out of the box Pixel3 made footage I could not import. That is, the .mp3 audio came in but the video was unrecognized.. even though Win 10 would play the clip fine.
There are many complaints about the Pixel 3 not producing a constant frame rate footage...it apparently decides 30fps vs 60 based on illumination. I looked around for how to fix it (you can't) and/or a replacement camera app that is constant frame rate (FilMic does not support Pixel3). 😞
But I discovered that if you go into Camera Advanced Settings and turn off the the use of EAVChd for smaller files so it just uses regular AVChd, the footage could be brought in. I will update this post if and when the variable frame rate actually bites.

If the file is variable frame rate, which although Adobe says it will support, many users are having issues with VFR.
Use Hand brake to convert to constant frame rate:

You can use VLC player to convert the video and save it.
