Space Bar not playing/pausing video v25

I've tried everyone I've found online (clearing cache, reverting preferences, new project, different versions) but each time after a few minutes, the space bar stops playing/pausing the video. I am on v25 on a mac.

It's making so that I can edit at all in the program.

To continue on this, when I relaunch premiere, it will work again, but a few edits later the functionality stops. So I need to close it and reopen the app.
