Hi all,
I'm trying to transcribe and closed caption my video essay for a class I'm taking, but the option to do so doesn't show up under the "Window" tab (photo below). My Premiere Pro is up to date – am I missing a plug in or something?
Thanks in advance!
Help -> About. You are not in PR 2022.4. You are in 2020 or earlier.
Do you have multiple version of PR installed on your machine?

Hi Zoe22477512tazu,
We're sorry about the poor experience. Please share the exact version number of Premiere Pro that you are using & the OS details. We're here to help, just need more info.
Thanks,

Reset preferences. You should see a Text panel in the Windows menu.

I am on windows. You have a "Captions" window. Try that.
You also have "Workspaces" at the top as I do, but also at the bottom. And I have 2 more tabs you don't have: Production and Review with Frame.io.
Are you an educational version? I don't know what the differences are.

Unfortunately, the "captions" window doesn't auto-transcribe my videos in the way "text" does, and it functions in a way super unfamiliar to me. Screenshot attached.
Yes, this is through my university, but I'm also unsure what the differences are (if any)
