Spotify/YT stops playing music while using Premiere! This never happened before. Is this an update?

I usually listen to music on Spotify or YouTube while I edit videos in Premiere and all of a sudden, I can't do that anymore! There seems to be a new feature which stops all other music/sound from other programs while Premiere is being used.  I couldn't find anything in the settings of both Premiere and Spotify to fix this.
This is a huge problem for me because I edit for long hours and it gets really boring without music playing in the background.

Anyone else experiencing this and have found a solution?

Thank you in advance!

I'm just suprised you've done that successfully in the past.

Premiere needs to have control of the video and audio of the computer to be able to do it's thing, and control all related processes. It's not designed to share resources with other apps.

So if I want background music playing, I've always needed to have another device handling that.

Hey there!

It seems like there's a new feature in Premiere that stops other sounds when you're using it. That's frustrating, especially if you like to listen to music while editing.

I'm not sure about a direct fix in Premiere or Spotify settings, but you might try checking your computer's sound settings. Sometimes, there are options there to manage sound priorities.

Others might have experienced this too. You could ask around in forums or communities to see if anyone has a solution.

And hey, if you need some tunes to spice up your editing sessions, you can always visit my website  for some music inspiration!
