srt file help

I am having trouble where I have a large video that I split into parts. I have been marking in and out to export videos, and have also been exporting an srt file. This method works fine for the video, but the srt retains the time stamps, and so a video that was at the 5 minute mark in the timeline makes the SRT file start at the 5 minutes mark. I need the SRT to reset and just use the in out mark as the 0 mark. I am not sure if there is a way to do this, but my work around has been to make a new project, import the video that I had just exported, and then import the srt file and then drag the subtitles to the beginning of the timeline where the video is. For reference I put the captions opened up in notepad. As you can see the timeline where I exported the videos from had the captions starting at the 2 minute mark., which kind of makes the srt file useless when importing into other programs because the exported video will start at the 0:00 mark, but the captions will start at the 02:25 mark. Thanks for the help!
