I assume you want to take an srt file with timecodes and text, and save it with only text, so you can put it into a regular text layer (like a title roll).

I would open the .srt in Subtitle Edit (free, third party app). Then File -> Export -> Plain Text. In the dialogue box that appears, the default includes timecode. Deselect the box "Show time code." The Preview should then show you a simple text listing. Then "Save As."

The Adobe is not letting me so I stop using it
