Every time I add a section of a clip to my timeline, PP seems to create and 'instance' of this in my source window. This means the menu for the window get's very cluttered. Can I stop this behavior?

Can you provide a screenshot of what you mean by instance of your clip?

So this is my very messy sourec menu.
Ideally I would just want the original clips showing and not the 'instances' of the clips.
Thanks

What you're seeing in the Source Monitor are instances of clips loaded directly from the Timeline. This happens when you double-click a clip in the Timeline—it loads that specific sequence instance into the Source Monitor. The timecode shown at the end of the clip name refers to its starting timecode in the Timeline.

If you'd prefer to view the original (Project panel) version of the clip instead, follow these steps:

  • Select the clip in the Timeline.
  • Go to Sequence > Match Frame, or simply press the F key.

This will load the master clip from the Project panel into the Source Monitor, helping to avoid clutter caused by Timeline-based instances.
