Strange export from Premiere Pro

Enthusiast ,
May 21, 2025 May 21, 2025

Hello,

I have noticed about an MP4 file that :

1) If I play it from PP timeline, all is OK about video quality.

2) If I go in PP export tab and choose "Match source adaptative high bitrate" and export it from PP (not by using Media encoder), the exported MP4 file has a very bad quality (pixelation).

Why the export with PP is worst than the original ?

Hi @pierret18811376 -  Thanks for submitting your bug report. We need a few more details to try to help with the issue.
Please see, How do I write a bug report?

What Premiere Pro and OS are you using?

As Neil Said can you right click on your media file and choose "Media File Properties" then post a screenshot.

Sorry for the frustration.

Hi @pierret18811376 -

I believe there’s a fix for your issue and it’s currently available in the Beta build. If you’d like to try it out, open the Creative Cloud desktop app, click Apps on the left, then select the Beta tab at the top. From there, find the Premiere Pro (Beta) box and click Install.

Hi @jamieclarke

I have installed and tried the Pemiere Pro beta version, and in the exported file from Premiere Pro beta, the problem is always here (pixelation).

Hi @pierret18811376 - Would you be able to send me the file and project.  You can send a link to jamiec@adobe.com

Is the pixelation always in the same place on export or different?  Where is this file from?
