Sync Settings Fail (Still in v22)

One of my favorite treats that I manage to always re-discover in premiere is that the sync settings option fails so regularly. When updating to the new version I select the "keep settings from previous versions" or whatever the option is. Yet when I open the new premiere, my workspaces and keyboard settings are gone. So I go to preferences > sync settings and select "always ask." And guess what? It only asks SOMETIMES. So instead of being asked to download settings, it uploads the new blank slate settings to creative cloud and I have to completely redo them all. Thanks, adobe! This is my favorite activity each time a new build is released.

Working on 2019MBP running Big Sur

(But this used to always happen on my Windows machines as well.)

you can for the most part manually locate the settings (and save them somehwere "safe" and then place them in the correct location when you update.  I agree it's a pain, but fro me a mangeable pain.  I prefer to understand what's going on "under the hood" anyway.   On the mac, it's in your user documents folder adobe: Premiere Pro:  15.0 (or whatever version you're working in).    The most important setting for me is my customized keyboard and since I provide support for a number of clients, I always manually load it on their systems...

Mine failed too.

Copied everything over from 2021.

I had to sync upload from 2021 and sync/download into 2022 about three times before it finally "took".

it's rarely worked for me.  Maybe someone should file a bug report...   or has someone?  I know enough not to depend on it... and know how to workaround the problem.   Honestly, resetting things manually isn't a big deal... except for the customized keyboard...
