System compatibility Error + Premiere Pro freezing

Hi!

I have two issues, of which nr 2 is critical and possibly related to nr 1:

1. I get an errir saying I need to update my Intel Drive. I have read numerous posts about this, and tried to update the drivers. Using the driver update via the "Fix" button, I get an error stating that the driver is not compatible with my current device. There seems to be no way for me to remedy the error message.
The latest Intel driver seems to be from 2018.

2. Premiere Pro has started to freeze after a couple of minutes each time I use the program. I can't use the software due to this anymore.

I am running Windows 10 with an Intel Core i7 5600 processor.

The Premire Pro error reads, in the text report:
"The current version of your Intel display driver may cause performance and stability issues. It is strongly recommended that you update to driver version 100.8476 or later. Drivers are provided by Intel or your computer's manufacturer.

Hi Amira5EB3,

Sorry to hear about this. Let us know the version of Premiere Pro that you are using & the other system specifications (GPU & RAM). Also, let us know the version of the GPU driver installed on your system.

Thanks,

Sumeet

Older Intel graphics hardware is no longer supported. You see, Intel had discontinued mainstream support for all CPUs older than the 6000-series (6th-Gen) in 2018. Since then, no new compatibility fixes for your 5th-Gen CPU have been released; only critical security fixes have been released.

Worse, you do not have even a quad-core CPU at all. All i7 mobile (laptop) CPUs that have a "U" designation up to and including the 7th-Gen lineup are only dual-core CPUs with hyperthreading (so only 2 cores and 4 threads). You do not want to get a CPU with such a weakling spec for use with any higher-level NLE software.

I see, thank you for the detailed answer. It does explain that there have been no updates to the driver sense 2018, and that the recommended Adobe driver update is not being installed. Time for a new computer!
