the Color Key tool is freezing the video

Hello,

I create an animation in Photoshop and then transfer it to Premiere. Every time I use the Color Key tool- the video it freezes and doesn't move. I tried rebooting the computer, deleted both programs and downloaded them again, and nothing helps. As soon as I cancel the tool - the film continues to move. I think the problem is with the files Photoshop exports, because older files don't give me this problem.

what can I do?

I'm desperate...

Most likely the Effect needs to be rendered.

 

After applying Color Key, choose Sequence > Render Effects In to Out.

When that is complete, the Timeline should play as expected.  This also assumes that your computer is able to play clips at whatever settings your Video Previews are set to in the Sequence Settings.

Hey
When I do this the rendering fails to complete, it stops in the middle, there is an "error compiling movie".

The error code is: 1609760768, EffectFilter of type GPUVideoFilter, AE.ADBE Color Key.

do you know what to do?

Try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site. If NVIDIA, do a clean installation of the latest Studio Driver (NOT the Game Driver)

Driver Version: 516.94 - Release Date: Tue Aug 09, 2022
 
from here:
 
Choose Custom Installation and then choose Clean Installation.
