Time remapping issue

Basically, I have some 120fps footage and I'm working with a 23.976fps sequence, as I always have been. For whatever reason the 120fps footage starts acting like it's 24fps once dropped into the sequence and lags if I drop the speed to 20% using Speed/duration or Time Remapping. If I use Modify > Interpret Footage and assume 24fps there, everything's fine. If I do it with the previously mentioned methods (as I always have done in the past), it just lags as if I try and slow down 24fps. Again, this isn't a playback issue, since assuming the fps before dropping it into the sequence works just fine. Any ideas why it behaves like that? I'm using the latest Premiere version, if that's relevant.
