So I've been using the timecode effect as a step counter for my videos.
This is what it looks like on the program monitor when I play it as a project:

And here's what's happening in the video after I render it:

I want it to look like the first GIF where the timecode does not fade in and out after every step. It was working as intended before but now I don't know what changed for this to start happening.
Any help would be much appreciated!
I figured it out. The time interpolation has to be set to "frame sampling." The fading in and out happens when the time interpolation is set to "frame blending."

Does your export framerate match your sequence framerate?

Yes, the sequence framerate is 29.97 and my export framerate is 29.97 as well.

How are you viewing the export. Does the same thing happen if you export to something other than a Gif?

The problem happens when I export it as H.264. The Gif is just a screen capture of the H.264 export playing through VLC. I exported a short section and same thing still happens in both ProRes and CineForm.

Could you explain how you used the timecode effect to do the count down. Did you use any speed changes. It could be a slow motion frame blending issue.
