As soon as the playhead leaves the screen the timeline auto scrolls after pressing stop. this is extrememly difficult for detailed editors like myself. the only way to prevent this from happening is to remain zoomed out which is counter productive for detailed editing. is anyone else having this issue?

Hey koryw27240833,

Sorry about this issue. Currently, The playhead will stop at the timecode where you issue the start/stop command in this workflow. Suppose you want the playhead to return to the position where you first gave the play command. You could keep your mouse at that position in the timeline and use the keyboard shortcut for Move Playhead to Cursor (Keyboard shortcuts > Timeline panel). Instead of pressing start/stop again. Hope this helps.

Regards,
Ishan
