Track Matte Not Applying Where Shape Is?

Probably something silly that i am doing, but cannot for the life of my figure out why the very simple matte application i'm trying to do here is not applying where the shape is and is instead moving to another spot on the video.

Your clip is in reverse: nest before adding track matte.
