Transform preset that changes values depending on layer

Hi everyone,
I'm having an issue and I don't know how to work around it :

I've created a shake preset by animating the position of a Transform effect into a 1920x1080 image.
But when I apply the same preset to a 500x500 image for example, the value of the preset (anchor point and position) changes. Therefore the animation isn't the same (concretely the shake in this exemple is way more subtle).

What I want is to have a Transform preset that stays with the exact same values no matter the layer it's applied to.
I don't know if there is a intended way to make it work as I want. And if not, what is possible to do to work around it ?

(ps : I know that a 1920x1080 adjustment layer, or nesting the image, and then apply the preset will make it work as I want. But I'm looking for an option that do not uses adjustment layer or nesting.)

Thanks a lot for your time

Premiere Pro Version : 24.3.0 (Build 59)

Please note that English is not my native language, thank you for your indulgence.

Instead of using the Transform Effect, can you save a preset for the 'Position' parameter under the clips intrinsic 'Motion'  tab in the Effects control panel. This will give you the same relative position values for different sized clips.

Hi, thank for your answer.
I will definitly try that.
By chance, do you have any clue how could I copy and paste (100s and more) Position keyframes from Transform effect to Motion's Position proprety ?

If your preset doesn't include Scaling keyframes, only position, then definitely use the position as @Mike Dziennik  mentioned and save it as a preset. The preset depend on the default values of layer position, so only apply when the position is in default values. If you change the position of the layer then definitely you will have too nest the layer at the end (as you know) and then apply the preset.

Although the Position values in the Transform effect are displayed in pixels, they’re actually being set in percentages based on the media frame size.

For presets, I usually create variations for different frame sizes, such as HD, 4K, etc.

You mentioned you’re adding them to images? If you add the image to a graphic (Graphics and Titles > New Layer > From File) and then apply the preset to the graphic, the Transform Position values will be based on the sequence frame size rather than the media frame size. This way, the movement will be consistent from one image to the next.

After you create one graphic this way, you can just duplicate it on the timeline and swap out the image in the Essential Graphics panel.

Hi, thank you I didn't know that. It's very interesting to know how it truely work (but that frustrating too...)
I will probably try making more versions of my preset yes.

Wow, I didn't know this trick either 😃 ! Very cool to know, although I will not use this solution for my current issue.

You might take a look at Premiere Pro master, Jarle Leirpoll's free presets. He built these for the film Deadpool.
