I will be working on keying out a green screen and get a clip to where I am happy with it. Then I will go back to my timeline and click on something else, and bam, my Ultra Key paramaters will have reverted to some previous value that I had tested out while I was dialing things in. This will happen EVEN if I save immediately prior to deselecting the clip in the timeline. I have to make a mental note of all the values I chose or jot them down before I move on. In this screen capture you can watch the "pedestal" value change from 50 to 90.
I have two different 2021 16" MPB M1 laptops and this happens on both of them. I have been putting up with it for at least a year but I think closer to 2-3 years. It might have even been happening when I was on my 2014 15" MBP, I can't remember for sure. It took me a long time to figure out what would trigger the bug and then a while before I caught it in action. It definitely happens a LOT when I am changing the parameters of the Ultra Key effect. I am not sure if it has happened with other effects as well.
This has been an infuriating bug but I have been living with it for a long time! Someone please save me from my misery!
Hello @Snaileb,
Thanks for filing the bug report. I tried reproducing the error from your original report but could not, even though I have similar hardware. Sorry about that. I can't reproduce your second issue, but I have heard of others having similar issues. I will keep an eye out for that.
Can you provide the team with full details about your system and media? See, How do I write a bug report?
I hope the team can assist you ASAP.
Thanks,
Kevin

I just experienced what I think is the same bug because of the behavior...
I copied + pasted a text graphic. In the essential graphics panel I edited the text. Then in the timeline I cut the clip.
Of the (now 2) clips, the one that was still selected had the new text. The one that was deselected had reverted to the old text!
It's the same trigger — when the clip is deselected in the timeline, changes made disappear. Please help!

Thanks Kevin. I'll keep paying attention as I work and see if I can identify any other specifics about what else is going on when these things happen, or create a situation where I can reproduce the bug consistently. So far it is intermittent (and thank goodness, or I'd never get anything done!)
I'm currently on Premiere version 24.1.0 (Build 85).
Computer specs:
macOS Sonoma 14.1.1
16-inch 2021 Macbook Pro
Apple M1 Pro

HI @Caleb24766126mhux,
I am checking back on this thread and you have not posted back here. It sounds like the issue has not resurfaced in current projects. Let me know if that is not the case. In the meantime, let's move your report to the discussions forum for troubleshooting and so that the community can comment. I hope that's OK. Take care.
Cheers,
Kevin

Hi @Kevin-Monahan,
Yes, the bug has continued to be present, I enconter it maybe once a week (anytime I need to really spend longer than 5 minutes fiddling with the Ultra Key values). I'm usually more focused on the task at hand than catching the bug though so unless I set up a screen recording ahead of time when I *think* it's about to happen, I don't have anything to share.
I guess the more relevant thing is that I haven't yet been able to identify any other contributing factors that are present when it happens. Which it sounds like is necessary before anything can really be done about it...
