How can I get rid of this new layout  (UI) in premiere pro and make it work like it used to? I have used premiere pro for 18 years now I cannot stand this new layout (UI).

Short answer; nope.

But you can skip most of it, as I do. Still dont like it. The same goes for the new export tab. I skip that and send timeline to AME and use the old-fashioned setup.

Yes, that is a fast way past the new layout. I also skip the new export tab. Shame they cannot allow a legacy mode. However, I did find a workaround by installing 2022 and using that instead, which seems too not have all this rubbish.

Ann's suggestion would seem to be preferable, otherwise, you'll be stuck on 22 for good. Ann's method merely ignores the stuff we don't like. And whenever they get that "Create" button moved (32" on my main monitor), it will put all the controls right next to each other.
