[v 15.4.1 Windows 10] Unable to create a timeline span marker?

I'm trying to expand a timeline marker by Alt+Clicking on it and dragging it to the right, but it's not working. I've watched several Premiere Pro tutorial videos demonstrating this action, but when I hold down the Alt key my mouse cursor turns into a little hand and does not allow me to span the marker. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Can you expand when using the Marker dialog box?

Thank you for the suggestion, Ann Bens. Yes, if I drag the Duration value in the Marker dialog it creates spanning marker. That's what I need. 🙂

I also discovered that if I change the Marker type to Chapter it allows me to create the span using Alt+Click, but not when it's a Comment Marker.
